|GALOT MOTORSPORTS’ drivers Todd “King Tut” Tutterow and Kevin Rivenbark continued on at the ADRL race at US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, MI on June 29-30, 2013.
In Pro Mod qualifying, Rivenbark went 3.952 at 187.99 MPH in the first round and followed it up with a straight and clean 3.929 at 188.00 MPH run in the second. Q3 saw Rivenbark finish with a 3.919 at 188.84 MPH, and he continued to best himself in the fourth round with a 3.890 at 190.41 MPH pass, ranking second overall. With his supercharged 2002 Pontiac Firebird, Rivenbark was quicker and faster than many of the top names in Pro Mod racing, and had positioned himself well ahead of the pack!
Moving into eliminations, Rivenbark’s first round was tricky as tire shake cause him to pedal it three times in order to get down the track successfully. Driving skillfully, he did so ahead of his opponent, and moved into round two where he faced off against his next challenger. Cutting a fantastic light (0.012 reaction time), Rivenbark lead by a tenth at the 330-foot marker but was unable to hold off the opposing car. With a 0.0074-second gap separating the two, Rivenbark missed out on advancing to the next round by just two feet at the finish!
In Pro Extreme, Tutterow drove his supercharged 1967 Ford Mustang GT500 to an elapsed time of 3.743 at 204.78 MPH in the first round of qualifying. Shaving a few hundredths off his time in round two and picking the MPH up a notch, Tutterow then went 3.717 at 206.02 MPH. Round three saw Tutterow with his best hit of the day, a 3.680 at 206.72 MPH pass which would ultimately secure him in the tenth position. Despite running a solid 3.747 at 206.10 MPH pass in the first round of eliminations with a near-perfect 0.007 reaction time, Tutterow didn’t have the momentum needed to get through the traps first.
